Frederick E. "Fred" Miller, Jr., 78, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 after a five year battle with ALS at his daughter's residence. Fred was born March 2, 1947 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Frederick E. Miller, Sr. and Margaret (Wigand) Miller Smith. Fred was a US ARMY Veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge as Seargent, he was awarded The Purple Heart with 1 Device, The Bronze Star Medal with 1 Device, The Good Conduct Medal, The Combat Infantryman Badge, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. Upon Completion of his military service, Fred would go on to work for US Steel Irvin Works for over 50 years, retiring as a manager. He enjoyed working and watching TV. He loved spending time with his family, and in later years, fishing with his family. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Linda Louise (Kadar) Miller; daughter, Krista Elko; son, Bradley (Linda) Miller; granddaughters, Emily (Stephen Patrick) Leonard and Riley Marshall. The family would like to thank his caregivers, LaToya and Jeanie, amongst the many other caregivers that helped Fred through his courageous battle with ALS. Visitation and Funeral Service were private. Burial was held at Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
