EASTON-- Frederick J. Murphy, 84, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on the 4th day of March in Yarmouth, MA, after a brief illness. He is the husband of the late Thelma M. (Poliseno) Murphy of Yarmouth, MA. Born in Brockton, MA on July 29, 1932, a son of the late Margaret (Cahill) Murphy and Frederick G. Murphy, he was raised in Easton and educated in Taunton at Coyle. Fred was an active member of the Armed Forces and served in the Korean War. Fred was employed by The Town of Easton, Jordan's of Boston, and The Cape Cod Cooperative Bank of Yarmouth, MA. Fred was devoted to his family, enjoyed traveling, and had a love for boating and the ocean. His hobbies included making bird houses, model boats, and doing word searches. In his spare time he enjoyed helping the elderly in Florida and Cape Cod. Fred is survived by his son Peter Murphy of Norton, his step-daughter, Susan Cruickshank of Brooks, ME, and step-son, Charles Poliseno of Hanover; 8 grand-children, 16 great grand-children and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was also the step-father of the late Michael Poliseno of Easton and the brother of the late Mary and George Murphy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase St, Easton, MA. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton, MA. Arrangements are by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Easton, MA. We spent 40 plus years together at the Bank. Great worker, kind friend, always good for several laughs. He looked out for his coworkers as if they were family. Great Christian, he was a regular at the Chapel! I will miss him very much. Joel
