Frederick "Fred" Newcombe II

5/10/1965 – 11/30/2025

Frederick "Fred" Newcombe II, 60, left this world the way he lived in it-sitting down and probably cracking a joke on the way out. Born with a mischievous spark and a heart big enough for everyone around him, Fred had a lifelong talent for humor. His favorite target? His son, Fred. It was his unique fatherly love language-equal parts teasing, laughter, and pride that he never bothered to hide. Fred enjoyed all the best parts of life: video games (which he played often but never developed a skill for), cooking (which he did with undeniable skill), and spending time with his family-whether they were ready for his jokes or not. A devoted New England Patriots fan, he enjoyed all of his hobbies the way he enjoyed life-loudly.

But above all else, Fred loved spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was sharing meals, swapping jokes, teasing his kids, bragging about his granddaughter, or simply sitting in the same room together, those were his favorite moments. He was happiest surrounded by his family.

An avid animal lover, Fred's heart belonged to his four-legged companions. He is now reunited with his beloved Brandy Lee Muffins Sweetheart, his loyal partner of 15 years. His dog Lucy remains here to carry on their shared traditions: begging for snacks, hogging the blankets, and making sure the family stays in line.

Fred spent his working life keeping things running in nursing homes and hospitals, where he repaired anything that broke-and lifted spirits while he was at it. If something needed fixing, whether it was a door, a machine, or someone's mood, Fred was the man for the job.

He was predeceased by his parents Fred Sr. and Jean (Gunning) Newcombe, his beloved spouse Dianna Newcombe, his brother Randall Newcombe, and his sweet dog Brandy Lee. He is survived by his sisters, Kendra Newcombe and Marie Jacques; his brother Anthony Newcombe; his son Frederick Newcombe III (who will forever miss the teasing that doubled as affection); his daughter Kelly Chaloux and her husband Jason; son Richard Fowler; his granddaughter Annora Johnson; and, of course, his dog Lucy.

A celebration of Fred's life will be held at a later date for close family and friends, where stories, laughter, and at least one Patriots jersey are strongly encouraged.

May Fred rest peacefully-and may heaven be fully prepared for his jokes, his heart, and his unmistakable charm.
