Frederick Salter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dusckas Funeral and Cremation Services Harborcreek on Aug. 5, 2024.
Frederick "Fred" J. Salter, of Wesleyville, passed away on August 3, 2024, at the age of 70. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on September 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Frederick and June Fanta Salter.
After graduating from McDowell High School in 1971, he embarked on a 43-year career at General Electric, retiring in 2016. Outside of work, Fred had a passion for travel, and was a foodie who enjoyed exploring local restaurants. Together with his wife, Diane, they eventually turned their shared interest of antiquing into a quaint small business. As an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, he cheered for his teams. Whether celebrating victories or enduring defeats, Fred's loyalty never wavered. He also enjoyed gardening. Above all, Fred cherished time spent with his eight grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diana "Diane" DeDionisio Salter; five children: Scott Salter (Beth), Nick Salter (Gary), Lisa Iesue (Tony), Jennifer Weindorf (Marc), and John Salter (Addie); eight grandchildren: Starr, Owen, Hope, Zoie, Preston, Tj, Vada and Teo. He is also survived by one sister, Barbara, nieces and a nephew.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral and Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Rd. on Friday, August 9th from 3 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
