Fumiko Davis

Fumiko "Micki" Davis, a beloved wife, mom, sister, auntie, and Bachan, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the age of 90 in her home surrounded by her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. She was tough as nails and if weren't for her kidneys, she'd still be hitting it big at the casino slots.

Born on April 20, 1935, in Suhogata, Otsuki-cho, Hata-gun, Kochi, Japan. She was one of 7 children of Yoshitake and Kameyo Nishimoto, second eldest with her siblings: Masahiro Tsuruoka, Toshihiko Nishimoto, Hiraku Nishimoto, Fusako Beika, Minae Kawamura, and Hiroko Hatano.

She led a full life working in Tokyo as a trendsetter for her generation owning her own home with no interest in leaving Japan until she met her husband, Carter Lee Davis Jr who preceded her in death in 2013. He changed everything and they married in 1970 in Japan. Together they had one daughter, Christine (Davis) Chambers in 1971.

She bravely traveled the world with her Army husband learning the English language as she went. Over the years, not only did she master the written and spoken language, she taught herself to crochet and sew where she then proceeded to start her own seamstress business. In 1998, she officially became a US citizen.

Fumiko is survived by her daughter Christine and her husband Scott Chambers of Millis, MA, as well as her pride and joy, her three grandchildren, Kaya, Paige, and Carter.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Port Wentworth Methodist Church.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey West.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
