G. Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory - Souderton on Mar. 18, 2026.
G. David "Dave" Moore, 77, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Huntingdon Valley Skilled Nursing & Rehab.

Dave was the beloved husband of the late Edith Mae Moore, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George Albert Moore and the late Marian (Nyce) Moore.

He graduated from North Penn High School in Lansdale with the Class of 1966.

Throughout his life, Dave held a variety of occupations. He worked as a pilot for an airline company in Indianapolis and later as a laborer at Godshall's Quality Meats in Telford. He also served in the United States Navy Reserves. Over the years, Dave worked part-time as a security guard with the former Miley's Security Company and was employed by the Towamencin Water Authority. He dedicated 30 years of service as a Wastewater Treatment Manager for the former Hatfield Quality Meats, now known as Clemens Food Group.

Dave was active in his community and faith. He volunteered for many years as a member of the Fire Police with Towamencin Fire Company. He was also a member of the Men of Malvern, the Matt Talbot Retreat Movement, and a charter member of the "Expect a Miracle Group" of Lansdale. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Wales.

Dave had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed aviation and admired the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. He studied the martial arts style of Juko-Ryu and enjoyed Gaither Gospel music. He was a fan of the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR racing, loved birdwatching and animals, and was an admirer of the music of Elvis Presley and Celine Dion. One of his favorite singers was J.D. Sumner, known as the world's lowest bass singer. Dave also enjoyed Pennsylvania Dutch food, watching television shows such as CSI, and taking trips to Cape May, New Jersey with his beloved wife.

Those who knew Dave remember him as a hardworking, mild-mannered, and kind man who was devoted to his family and known for his gentle spirit and good sense of humor.

He is survived by his four children: John David Moore of California; Connie Lynn Minnig and her husband, Andrew "Andy," of Hatfield, Pennsylvania; Jeffrey David Moore of Illinois; and Anthony Zemalis and his wife, Wendi, of Windber, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his grandson, Tarik Zemalis of Telford, Pennsylvania; and his two sisters, Christine "Kitty" Heckler of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, and Mary Ann Fretz and her husband, Robert "Bob," of Corning, New York.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Laverne "Vern" Heckler.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, Pennsylvania.
