G. June Thueme

G. June Thueme, a beloved resident of Warren since 1960, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on May 6, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born June 3, 1930, in St. Clair, Michigan, June was one of 13 children of Floyd and Hazel (née Rands) Wiswell. She was raised in St. Clair and graduated from St. Clair High School before pursuing cosmetology school. Her career led her to work in office management and retail sales, most notably at Shifrin-Willens jewelry stores in various shopping malls. However, June considered her most meaningful and fulfilling role to be that of homemaker.
On May 28, 1949, June married the love of her life, Frank C. Thueme, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in St. Clair. Together they shared nearly 73 wonderful years of marriage until Frank's passing on April 11, 2022.
June was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a fiercely independent and feisty spirit. She was also a talented artist and a proud student of Bob Ross, known for her beautiful canvas and china paintings. Her creativity and warmth touched everyone around her. She was always ready to share a meal-especially if it involved tacos-and treasured time spent with her family.
June is survived by her loving children, Dennis (Debra) Thueme, James (Geri) Thueme, and Greg Thueme; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Gladys Pavlik. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents, eleven siblings, and daughter-in-law, Lynne Thueme.
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 9, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gramer Funeral Home, located at 705 North Main Street, Clawson, Michigan 48017. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, May 10, at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a procession to White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make contributions in memory of June may do so to the American Lung Association.
June's legacy of love, strength, and creativity will be cherished always by those who knew and loved her.
