Gabriel Christopher Richtig, 20, of Iron Mountain passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023.
Gabe was born September 21, 2003, in Iron Mountain, son of Christopher and Bobbi Jean (Smith) Richtig. After graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 2022, he attended Associated Training Services, earning certifications in heavy equipment and crane operations and his CDL. Currently, he was employed by MJ Electric as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #2150. Gabe loved sports, especially baseball and football, and earned MVP honors as running back with the IMHS Varsity Football Team in 2022. He was an avid outdoorsman and fishing was his passion. Gabe enjoyed trips to the casino and cherished spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Chris and Bobbi Richtig of Iron Mountain; his grandparents, Charles and Denise Smith of Iron Mountain, Mary Lee and Jim Baldwin of Austin, AR, and John and Joanie Richtig of Iron Mountain; two sisters, Courtney Richtig (Nathan Markell) and Valerie Richtig; his niece and little buddy, Salem; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm on Saturday, Nov. 4th, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 at the funeral home with Fr. Martin Flynn officiating. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Gabe's name at the First National Bank & Trust of Iron Mountain.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
