Gail Dorothea Chastang, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully on July 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 8, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent her life rooted in faith, family, and service. Gail was a woman of deep faith, which guided every aspect of her life. She was a devoted member of her church, where she found joy in worship, community, and service. Gail's legacy is one of faith, strength, compassion, humor, and unwavering kindness to others; a life marked by love and laughter that lives on in all who were fortunate to know her. Gail was a proud graduate of Seton High School and Northern Kentucky University. She was a gifted writer and a natural storyteller, spending much of her career as a writer working in Communications at Cincinnati Gas and Electric, later Duke Energy, where she retired after many years of dedicated service. She loved to garden and knit, often gifting handmade treasures to friends and family. Above all, Gail was devoted to her family. She is survived by her daughters, Andrea Clemons (husband Michael), Lauren Chastang, and Kristen Burgoyne (husband Tim); her grandchildren, Isabelle Frazier (husband Harlan) and Kai Frazier; Jacob and Maggie Burgoyne; her brother, Frank Shotwell (wife Becky); and her beloved dog, Charlie. Though divorced, she remained close to her former husband and the father of her children, Jim Chastang. A service to celebrate Gail's life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, with visitation from noon to 2 pm and service at 2 pm. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring her memory and the lasting impact of her love, faith, and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to kindly request that you consider donating to either the Boone County Animal Shelter or Rob's Kids in her memory. https://www.boonecountyky.org/departments/animal_control/donate.php https://www.robskids.org/donate/
