Gail Ragan (née Williams) of Rolla, MO passed away Friday, August 1, 2025 at the age of 89.
Gail was born in Rolla, MO on September 21, 1935 to Archie and Millie Williams (née Campbell.) She attended Rolla High School where she met the late Norman Ragan. The two were wed on August 21, 1960 and built a full life together over the
next 60 years.
Gail was a lifelong and devoted member of Greentree Christian Church, where she found deep meaning in the fellowship of her congregation, especially among cherished friends in her Sunday School class. She found joy and peace in nature, tending to her garden filled with vibrant flowers and fresh vegetables, taking daily walks, and caring for hummingbirds as they passed through on their annual migration. Gail enjoyed embroidery and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. She was also a talented and generous baker, known for sharing her delicious holiday treats-especially her Christmas cookies-to the delight of family and friends.
Gail is survived by her son, Chip Ragan and wife Peggy of Tucson, AZ; her daughter Teresa Zaner and husband Dan of Platte City, MO; her two sisters, Jackie Nelson of Independence, MO and Carol Stevens of Blue Springs, MO; four grandchildren, Danielle Ehlers and husband Branden, Bryce Zaner and fiancé Elena Patz, Molly Ragan, and Sean Ragan; and two great grandchildren, Brynn Ehlers and Ian Ehlers.
A funeral service for Gail Ragan will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Greentree Christian Church in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Rolla, MO. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Greentree Christian Church.
