Gail Tolman Vaughan, 77, of 179 Nagog Hill Rd, Acton, MA passed away on Feb 28, 2024, at Bridges by Epoch in Westford, MA.
Born at Worcester Hospital on March 14, 1946, she was the beloved first daughter of Raymond Hitchcock Tolman and Ruth Ryan Tolman. Gail grew up in a warm family environment with her older brother Richard, and sisters, Susan Crumrine (Robert) and Janet LeBoeuf (John).
Affectionately known as "Gaily," she spent 57 beautiful years married to her soulmate, Laurence M. Vaughan, in a relationship that was a testament to enduring love and unwavering commitment. Their life together was filled with joyous moments, laughter, and deep companionship.
Gail's legacy is marked by her devotion as a mother to Jill Vaughan Tesei (Peter) and Jeffrey Vaughan, and as "GiGi," a doting grandmother to Jack and Lily Vaughan and Caroline and James Tesei. Her nurturing heart also extended to her nieces Maryn Crumrine Miller, Erin LeBoeuf Clymer, Heather LeBoeuf Sumner, her great-nieces, great-nephew, cousins, and their children, all of whom eagerly awaited her visits.
Renowned for her kindness, Gail was a beacon of joy, hope, and laughter, positively impacting everyone she encountered. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, fun, and generosity. Her unwavering support and compassion were pillars of strength and comfort to her family and friends. Gail's vibrant personality and boundless generosity lit up the lives of many.
Her creative talents and gift for bringing people together were evident in her exceptional culinary skills, celebrated Sunday dinners, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere she created. Gail's artistic flair shone through in her beautifully curated gardens at Lake Boone and her successful partnership at the Colony Florist in West Concord for 29 years, where she displayed her unique style and grace. Her holiday decorations, especially the Christmas stockings and Easter baskets, were legendary, making those occasions unforgettable for her family.
Gail's deep faith and commitment to service were vividly displayed in her active participation in St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Acton, embodying the essence of a faithful servant. Her life was a profound reflection of love, generosity, and faith, leaving an enduring impact on those she loved.
The Vaughan and Tesei families want to extend a loving thanks to Grace McWalter who stood by Gail's side
faithfully right to the end.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Bellevue Cemetery in Harvard, MA at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 27, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org in Gail's name.
