William (Will) Perry Sisk, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at Emerson Hospital Monday, September 29, 2025, from medical complications at the age of 77. A resident of Boxborough, Massachusetts for over thirty years, he leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Regina (Archila) Sisk, their three children, William (Megan) Sisk, Edward (Caitlin) Sisk, and Mercedes Sisk, and one grandchild, Theodore William Sisk. He is survived by his brothers Michael Sisk, Timothy Sisk, and Stephen Sisk, and his sisters Susan Salentine, Jo-Ann Carson, and Margaret Cawley, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. He is pre-deceased by his sister Nancy Federico, his brother James Sisk, his brother David Sisk, and his parents James and Anna (Perry) Sisk.
Will earned his PhD in Biochemistry from Georgetown University, and then held various positions; notably working at the NCI in Bethesda Maryland and the Frederick Cancer Research Facility, and a Principal Investigator at Dupont Merck Pharmaceutical, until he moved to Massachusetts and continued his work in the biopharmaceutical field. Will worked and retired from Biogen after working there for 25 years as a Senior Director of Molecular and Cellular Engineering and Distinguished Investigator in Drug Discovery Research. He ran a successful lab, published numerous scientific articles, earned multiple research patents, helped develop medicines that would improve the lives of people, and advanced scientific understanding of therapeutic molecules.
Will knew something about everything and had many hobbies. Will brought his curiosity and meticulous attention to everything he did - he was an accomplished woodworker, an excellent chef, an avid reader, and a diehard Boston sports fan. He loved spending time in Stonington Borough, CT, with his brothers, sisters, and childhood friends, and the community of friends and family he built there continued to be an oasis for him throughout his life.
He was happiest when he was surrounded by friends and family, especially his children, and recent grandchild, listening and talking about music, spending time on the ocean, sharing his passions, infectious laughter and sense of humor. He loved teaching his family everything he could. His two favorite words were "hard work" and he instilled in his children the value of an education and helping others. He will be remembered by all his many sayings (i.e. "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right"), and he will be especially remembered at every Thanksgiving dinner, in every throw and every tennis serve, whenever we pass a true colonial home, and at every game of UNO.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, October 3rd from 4:00-6:00 PM in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) Acton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, or National Public Radio
