Services for Gail Bowermaster Walston, age 88, will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home in Palestine beginning with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Land of Memory Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Danny Rodriquez officiating.
Gail was born on November 2, 1936, in Palestine, Texas to Clarence Bowermaster and Elberta Sexton Bowermaster. She lived in Palestine most of her life and was a lifelong member of Evangelistic Temple. Gail was a volunteer at Sunshine Guild and the activity volunteer at multiple assisted living facilities in town. She enjoyed volunteering and meeting new people. Gail loved spending time in her garden and watching the birds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Elberta Bowermaster. Survivors include her loving husband of 69 years and 11 months, Sid Walston of Palestine; son Sidney Walston and wife Donna Warren of Palestine; daughters, Deborah Walston and husband Jack Kraatz of Montalba, and Rebecca Cole and husband Keith of Palestine; brother, Larry Bowermaster and wife Barbara of Palestine; sisters, Dorothy Oldham and husband Bill of Palestine, Shearon Hassell of Palestine, Dana Britt and husband Bobby of Palestine, and Susan Tillery of Palestine; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Buchanan and wife Brittany of Alvin, TX, Graham Cole and wife Sierra of Palestine, and LaNay Blackmon and husband Keith of Houston; as well as 7 great-grandchildren, Jake, Emily, Luke, Abigail, Delilah, Oakleigh, and Hutton.
