Gale C. Bahr, age 89, of Townsend, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 14, 2025.
She was born on February 24, 1936, in Cecil, Wisconsin, to the late Elmer and Dina (Matthews) Runge. Gale lived a life centered on what mattered most to her: her deep faith, and her beloved family. She will be remembered for her kind heart, strong and generous spirit, and unwavering love and devotion for those she loved.
Gale found joy in the simple pleasures of life- she loved baking from scratch, singing along to her favorite hymns, and spending time with her family. Her home was always filled with music, and the smell of something sweet in the oven.
She touched many lives through her kindness, strength, and quiet wisdom. Gales's legacy of love and resilience will continue to live on through her family and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Donald N. Bahr; her children, Debbie (Bahr) Mitchell, Mary (Bahr) Kallin and husband Brian Kallin; her cherished grandson, Brian Mitchell; her sister, Kaye (Runge) Collar and husband Mike Collar. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Dina Runge, and grandparents, Adolf and Clara (Fischer) Matthews.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A family service will be held at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9am until the funeral service at 11am with Pastor Steven Stoll officiating. Gale will be interred at Mountain Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice for the care and compassion offered to Gale and her family during their time of need.
