Gale R. Lyon, 66, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 19th at her home.
She was born October 2, 1958, in Watertown, NY, daughter of Roger and Janice Side Peterson. She was educated in Alexandria Bay schools.
Gale worked as a cook for the Homestead Restaurant, in Alexandria Bay, for almost 40 years.
She volunteered for the Redwood Food Pantry. She was known as “Mama Gale” to many of the neighborhood kids.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Albert Faubert, her father, Roger Peterson, Alexandria Bay, her sisters, Polly (Mark Leeper) Beers, Alexandria Bay, Penny (Mark) Maclean, Brunswick, ME, Fern (Rob) Fichthorn, Alexandria Bay, and Linda (William) Edgar, Redwood, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Janice, and a brother, William Cunningham.
A celebration of life reception will be held Sunday, September 7th, from 1-4 pm at the Alexandria Bay American Legion.
Memorial donations may be made in Gale’s name to the Alexandria Bay Rescue Squad, 110 Walton St, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607.
