Gary R. Adamski, of Antigo, died on February 13, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 79 years old. He was born on March 30, 1945 in Antigo, a son of Robert and Fern (Meisenhelder) Adamski. He married Judy Bauknecht on September 19, 1972 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. Gary was a graduate of Antigo High School. He was a United States Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service he returned to Antigo and worked for the Department of Natural Resources as a trapper and dredger, Amron, and Duffek Sand and Gravel. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and trapping with his sons. Gary loved camping and fishing on Lake Gogebic in Michigan. In addition to his wife Judy of 52 years, he is survived by two sons, Brian Adamski of Antigo and Scott Adamski of Crandon; three grandchildren, Nick, Abby, and Jack; sister, Mary Clark of Antigo; and two cousins who he was raised with, Judy Wanca and Steve Meisenhelder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, August, and Jackie Adamski; sister, Katherine Adamski; maternal grandparents, August and Anne Meisenhelder who raised him; brothers-in-law, Charles Clark and Richard Bauknecht; sister-in-law, Jackie Bauknecht; and cousin, Dan Meisenhelder who Gary was raised with. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Dr. Peterson, Dr. Luethmer, Dr. Kneeland, and Leroyer Hospice for their care of Gary over the years.
