Gary D Ailor, age 68, of Knoxville passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 15, 2022 after a 13-year battle with multiple cancers. He loved his Lord Jesus, family, friends, fishing, golfing, the Vols, the Braves, music and taking road trips! Proceeded in death by parents Dick Ailor and Frances Bean, sister Cheryl Deaver and grandparents. Survived by his best friend and wife of 37 years, Kay Ailor; son Nick (Love); daughter Wendy (Scott); siblings, Tony, Lisa (Mike), Becky (Jerry), Kevin (Lorie), David (Karen), Renee; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; stepdad Bob Bean, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to send special thanks and love to his care team at Thompson Cancer Survival Center, and all his beloved family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Thompson Cancer Survival Center Foundation. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church, 1620 N Central St. Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4:00pm with Reverend Bob Bean officiating. Feel free to wear one of Gary's favorite "colors": Vols, Braves, and flannel!
