Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, at Matthew Funeral Home Chapel for Gary Lee Broussard.
Deacon Mike Tramel will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. to the time of service. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
It's with heavy hearts that we announce that Gary Lee Broussard, 87, passed away on May 17, 2024, in the comfort of his home in Lake Arthur.
Gary Lee Broussard was born In Lake Arthur to the late John and Mary Hymel Broussard on April 18, 1937. He served his country proudly from 1955 to 1963 in the U.S. Armed Force and then went on to work for Mobil/Exxon for his entire career. Gary loved going to the L.A. Bar and visiting with his buddies. He was an excellent card player and loved his football. Gary was a kind, generous person and to know him was to love him!
Leaving behind to mourn his loss and cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 64 years, Brenda Smith Broussard of Lake Arthur and his sister-in-law, Cheryl Smith of Lafayette, LA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Broussard and seven siblings: 3 brothers, Curtis John, Wilson Steven and Gerald Broussard and 4 sisters: Dorothy Grace Hasha, Pauline Guidry, Theresa Thibodeaux, and Hilda Bourian and his brother-in-law, Clifton Neil Smith.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
