Gary Burman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Day Funeral Service - Gahanna on Dec. 17, 2025.
Gary Paul Burman of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, died Saturday, December 13, 2025, from heart-related issues. He was 68.

Gary was born on June 23, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, to Dr. Leonard and Mary Ann Burman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Burman.

He is survived by his brother, Dan Burman (Diane Gedmin); his nephew, Jeremy Burman; his best friends, John Carr and Jody Capuano; and close friends, Bill Carr and Brenda.

Gary loved sports and a good game of video poker. For many years, what he enjoyed most was having the guys over on Sundays. "Sundays at Gary's" became a tradition. John, Jody, Bill, Jeremy, and others would gather at Gary's to hang out and watch sports on TV.

Gary graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1975. After high school, he worked as a cook at Bob Evans and later became a pizza delivery driver. When not working, Gary, John, and others played hundreds-if not thousands-of games of Tennisball on Little League fields around the area, most often on Diamond 7 at JFK Park in Reynoldsburg.

For fun, Gary and John also squeezed in thousands of games of Strat-O-Matic Baseball. Their biggest rivalry was Gary's 1954 Indians versus John's 1927 Yankees.

In his later years, as his health declined, Gary always looked forward to Sundays-especially "Sundays at Gary's."

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association in Gary's name.
