Jerry Mack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caliman Funeral Services - Columbus on Jan. 13, 2026.
Jerry William Mack was born in Greer, South Carolina on March 5, 1942, to Isreal and Mary Mack. He attended Lincoln High School in Taylor, South Carolina, and moved to Columbus, Ohio shortly after graduating. Jerry retired from General Motors Corporation, Fisher Guide Division after 30 years of service.
During the late 60's and early 70's, Jerry spent his spare time as a drag racer at National Trail Raceway, where he raced his 1968 Chevy Camaro known as "The Buckeye Hustler". He would later co-own several thoroughbred racehorses with his longtime friend Curtis Brooks. Two of his favorites, Born Alone and My Diamond Lady, raced primarily at Beulah Park, Thistledown and River Downs.
Mack, as he was called by those closest to him, will be remembered for his love for bowling. He was well known throughout the Columbus area bowling alleys and participated in bowling leagues until 2023, when an injury forced him to retire his passion at the age of eight-one (81). His accomplishments include at least six perfect 300 games, along with 28 series exceeding 700 and an 800 series. Mack was also an avid pool player and a Lifer with the Ace of Spades Motorcycle Club. If he wasn't at the bowling alley, pool hall, or the club, he was spending time with his family.
Jerry entered eternal rest on January 4, 2026, surround by his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents Isreal and Mary Mack, brothers Thomas Mack, Gary Stanley Mack, Julius O'Neal and sister Fannie Mack.
