PRINCETON – Gary Roger Davis, 84, of Princeton, WV entered into Heaven on November 18, 2023. He was born in Newtown, WV on October 24, 1939 to the late Bill Davis and Verda Hatfield Davis.
Gary attended Princeton Senior High School and then served in the US Army. He also worked in the coal mines, construction, and was a beloved houseparent, with his wife, at Davis Stuart Group Home in Princeton for 18 years before he retired. While there, he helped shape the lives of many young boys into men, some of which became like family; especially James Hoke. Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved all sports and chewing tobacco.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Brenda "Booty" Gillespie Davis; and sister, Neva "Cissy" Repass.
He is survived by daughters, Sherry and her husband David Perkins, and Dolly Davis; son, Jason and wife Debbie Davis; grandchildren, Holly and her husband Johnny Perkins, Logan Davis, and Landon Davis; great-grandchildren, Pyper Perkins, and Palyn Perkins all of which reside in Princeton; brothers, William "Billy Ray" Davis, Guy and wife Teresa Davis, Jerry "JW" Davis, and Wetzel and wife Jill Davis; sister, Gaye Hubbard; and Gary's best friend, Joey Starkey.
He will always be best remembered for his fun-loving personality.

Funeral service will be 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Friends may visit form 5:00 until service hour.
Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:30 a/m/
Pallbearers will be Logan Davis, Guy Davis, Jr, Kevin Davis, Joey Starkey, Bryan Starkey, and Johnny Perkins.
