Simply Cremation - Green BayGary Allen Erickson (Bear), 72, Pulaski, WI, passed away July 25, 2025. He was born on May 19,1953, to Manton and Louise (Pokorney) Erickson in Green Bay, WI. Gary married Darlene Hylok on October 11, 2019.
Gary graduated from Ashwaubenon High School in 1971, where he was a multi sport athlete. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at the Duluth Air Force Base and later at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. After is honorable discharge in 1975, he attended NWTI and earned degrees in Fire Science Technology and Criminal Justice using the GI bill. He later became an Emergency Medical Technician as well. Gary spent his career at the Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport serving as a Public Safety Officer for 41 years. He retired in 2015 with the rank of Captain. He also served several years on the Pulaski Tri County Volunteer Fire Department.
Gary liked to fish and hunt, but he loved showing off Betty, his beautiful 1982 Pontiac Trans Am. He won many trophies and enjoyed making new car friends.
Gary is survived by his wife, Darlene. His three children, Matt (Jennifer) Erickson, Luke (Tracey) Erickson, Marcy (Tom) Rentmeester. Darlene's children, Kalyn Williams, Kellee (Greg) Miner and Kassandra (Kyle) McCleary. Grandchildren, Ashlee, Kaylynn, Hannah, Will, Josie, Max, and Madeline. Great grandchildren, Baylie, Gunnar and Cooper, Sister, Kim (Mike) Reigert, Brother in law, Dennis (Roxanne) Hylok. Long time high school friend, Bill Martin and his Uncle Dale Erickson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Tony and Delores Hylok and many aunts and uncles.
Services will be held on August 15, 2025 at Our Saviors Chirstian Church, N1731 County Rd S, Pulaski, WI. Visitation 9-11 AM. Memorial Service with Pastor Mike Tappa to follow. Burial in the Polish National Cemetery in Pulaski.
