September 3, 1941 - April 20, 2025
Gary W. Fluent, 83 of Ponca passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 at Ponca United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. all held at the church. Burial will be at Ponca City Cemetery. Arrangements directed by Mohr Funeral Home of Ponca.
In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Ponca United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponca, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville, Iowa, Ponca Fire and Rescue, Ponca Senior Center, or a nursing program of your choice.
Gary was born the son of Clair and Alice (Miille) Fluent on September 3, 1941 in Newcastle, Neb. He graduated from Ponca High School in 1959. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. Gary married Rosalind "Rosie" Fisch on November 22, 1988. They made their home in Ponca.
He was a longtime farmer in rural Ponca.
He enjoyed hunting big game all over the country and in Canada. He was a longtime member of the NRA and Ponca United Methodist Church.
Gary is survived by his wife, Rosie Fluent of Ponca, Neb.; brother, Ken (Karen) Fluent of Sioux City, Iowa; niece, Tawnya (Aaron) Becker of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; great niece, Michele Becker of Minneapolis, Minn.; sister-in-law, Annette (Stan) Myers of Desmet, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dear Rosie, This is Esther Eichhorn RN. Remember our days working at St Lukes? I was just thinking of you a couple days before I saw Gary's obit.
