Gary H. Gebauer, age 77, of the Township of Greenwood WI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 26, 2025, at his home. Gary was born in Medford, WI, on November 25, 1948, to the late Henry and Myrtle (Jarchow) Gebauer. He was married to his high school sweetheart Nancy Yost on June 17, 1967.

Gary was a 1966 graduate of Rib Lake High School. After high school, he attended North Central Technical College in Wausau. Through the years, he was employed at Michaels Pipeline, Steel Structures, and Huotari Construction up until his retirement.

He enjoyed playing baseball, dartball, horseshoes, card games, and bowling, while also being an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and trapping and was a member of the Taylor County Sportsman's Club. Gary cherished time spent with his family and was a loving grandpa calling his grandchildren daily to find out "What's new?" He was known for his warm presence and genuine smile which made him a friend to many. He truly left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Gebauer; his children Jeff (Tina) Gebauer of Medford, WI, Lisa (Jeff) Dahl of Medford, WI, Jody (Paula) Gebauer of Tomahawk, WI; his grandchildren, Ashley (Chad) Allen, Alex (Karsen Yack) Dahl, Samantha Gebauer, Sara Gebauer, Chelsea Gebauer, Jessica Gebauer, and Tanner Gebauer; great-grandchildren, Ellanor Allen and Lincoln Allen; siblings Bonnie Freeck and James (Joan) Gebauer. Gary is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle, sister Donna Frombach, a brother in infancy, and brothers-in-law, Donald Freeck and Robert Frombach.

In accordance with family wishes, no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Life service will take place in the summer.
