Terese Zimmerman Obituary

Terese "Teri" L. Zimmerman, age 62, of Medford, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, under the care of her family and Hope Hospice & Palliative Care following a courageous battle with cancer. Teri was born in Medford, WI, on February 28, 1963, to the late William and Emily (Gacek) Niggemann.
Teri was a 1981 graduate of Rib Lake High School, fondly known to many as "Rosie". During that time, she shared many memories of her years as a cheer leader, as well as being crowned prom queen. These years are also when she found her passion for being a caregiver, beginning her career at the Rib Lake Health Care Center. Following high school, Teri moved to Wausau, WI, where she made many more memories with friends whom she held dear to her heart. She married Rodney Zimmerman on April 20, 1991, followed by her proudest accomplishment, becoming a mother. They later divorced. For some time she worked in the insurance field and as a dental assistant before recertifying as a Certified Nursing Assistant. After moving back to the Rib Lake and Medford area to be closer to family, she continued working as a CNA. She took great pride in caring for others instilling lasting impressions on those she cared for, their families, and her coworkers. She will be remembered for her kindness and compassion, sharing her heart of gold with everyone she knew.
Teri greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors. Whether it was camping, days spent at the lake, laying in the sun, or an evening around a fire. She also enjoyed taking shopping road trips, often times with no destination in mind, just enjoying wherever the day would take her. She had a love for music and attended many concerts throughout the years. Above all, Teri loved spending time with her family. She also never passed on the opportunity to spend quiet days at home, re-watching her favorite shows while snuggled on the couch with her "fur-grand babies", Mack and Veda.
Survivors include her daughter, Kaile Zimmerman, of Westboro, WI; her brother, William (Mary) Niggemann, of Rib Lake, WI; and her sisters, Kathleen (Ray) Synol, of Medford, WI, Marleen Holtz, of Rib Lake, WI, Karen (Ken) Steinman, of Milwaukee, WI, Joanie (Jim) Gebauer, of Rib Lake, WI, and Sandy (Rod Sackman) Klimeck, of Marathon, WI. Teri was further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Emily.
Although her time here with us was short, we are comforted knowing she is now at rest, no longer feeling the pain and trials that cancer brings. We find peace that she was welcomed into Heaven, not only by our Heavenly Father, but by her father, William. A long-awaited reunion of a father and daughter, whose time together on earth was brief. Memorials are appreciated to Hope Hospice or Cattails Place with the Marshfield Clinic Health System.
Memorial services for Terese Zimmerman will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Rib Lake, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
