Gary Hockman Obituary
After graduation from high school, Gary proudly joined the Army. When his time in the service was complete, he became a welder and pipe fitter for the remainder of his career.
Gary married the love of his life, Diane, and together they welcomed four children to their family: two daughters, Laura Banks and Jill Hockman, and two sons, Gary Hock man Jr. and Christopher Hockman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved Diane to whom he was married for 43 years.
Gary is survived by his four children: Laura, Jill, Gary Jr. (Danielle), and Chris, along with ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was an avid shitzu lover and in his spare time enjoyed playing bingo and participating in antique shows.
A family-directed Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, 10:00 AM. The service will be officiated by Pastor Rev. Jarod Koenig at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 911 W Mt. Vernon St, Nixa, Missouri. Attendees may pay their respects to the family from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A lunch will follow the services.
After the services, my father will be united with his late wife, Diane, and placed in the columbarium at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri at 3:00 PM.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Redeemer Lutheran church at [email protected].
Care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. - DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory, Springfield, MO.

My family and Gary's traveled the pipe fitters route from job to job in the late 40's, early 50's. I have a picture of the 2 of us going to a formal school dance at his school in the mid 50's? Fond thoughts of John, Stella and all.
