Gary Wayne Huff, Sr., 75, of Chuckey entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024. He was born in Persia, TN on June 18th, 1949 to the late Coy Woodrow Huff and Gladys Lucille Huff. In addition to serving the Lord in pastoral ministry at Kingsway Baptist (Bristol, VA), Grace Baptist (Camden, TN), and Stoney Creek Baptist (Elizabethton, TN), he also worked in hospital administration retiring after 31 years as the Patient Accounts Director at Laughlin Memorial Hospital in Greeneville, TN. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by sisters Geraldine Holt and Carolyn Dixon, brother Coy Huff.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anne Huff; sons Gary (Heather), Andy (Jae), and Ryan (Brooke); grandchildren Peyton, Caleb, Nate, Max, Tatum, and Christian; sisters Wanda Spears and Patricia Chesser; brother Charles Huff; and several nieces and nephews.
After serving his country as a member of the United States Air Force, Wayne graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, with a Bachelor's of Arts in Pastoral Ministry where he also met the love of his life, Anne. He loved his country, but more than that he loved his family and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In his passing he leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness and joy.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the ER and ICU staff of Laughlin Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th, from 5-7pm and on Friday, December 27th from 12-2pm at Jeffers Funeral Home, 101 Graceland Lane, Afton, TN with funeral service to immediately follow led by Pastor Steven Davis.
