Wright Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Hawley & Lake ParkGary Allan Leach, 83, of Glyndon, MN passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Hawley Senior Living, Hawley, MN.
Gary was born to Earl and Mary (Holler) Leach on February 19, 1942, on the family farm in Glyndon, MN. He attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Glyndon High School in 1960. Following high school, he joined the National Guard and worked at American Crystal Sugars in Moorhead, MN before returning to the family’s cattle farm full time. He later purchased the farm from his parents and continued to farm until moving into Hawley Senior Living in 2020.
Gary was united in marriage to Karen Morlock on June 14, 1975, in Glyndon Lutheran Church. Together they raised three children. Karen passed away in April of 2000.
Gary followed in his father’s footsteps and began driving bus for Glyndon school district in 1973, retiring after 40 years, all while still operating the cattle farm. He was very involved in the Glyndon Firearm Safety program and was recognized for his 30 years of service. Gary also served many years as the Spring Prairie Township Treasurer.
Gary enjoyed hunting and taking fishing trips on the English river system in Canada. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family.
Gary is survived by his sons, Tyler (Casey) Leach, Gary Jr. (Jamie) Leach, and Justin (Nikki) Leach; grandchildren, Ava and Caleb, Hunter and Kaylee, and Natalie and Emily; sister, Shirley (Wes) Berg, brother, Charles (Rita) Leach, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents, Earl and Mary; brothers, Virgil and Verle, and sister Beth Brunelle.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.
Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery.
