Gary S. Payne, age 80, of Medina, NY entered into rest on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Born September 2, 1944 in Medina, he was a son of the late Floyd and Elva (Sanderson) Payne. Gary was a graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1962. He went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1968. On April 17, 1971 he married the former Deborah J. Stack and the couple have resided in Medina ever since. Gary worked as an electrician at Harrison Radiator Division of GM in Lockport and retired in 1999. Following retirement, he worked part time for Darien Lake. Gary was a longtime active member of the Sacred Heart Club in Medina. He enjoyed playing euchre and was an avid bowler.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three siblings, Douglas Payne, Ted (Nancy) Payne and Barbara (Jerry) Padoleski.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 years, Deborah J. Payne; two daughters, Lori Morgan (Dan Farrell) and Lisa (Chris) Jacobs; seven grandchildren, Aaron Hurt, Brittanie Markle, Brenden Morgan (Emily), Ashlee (Larry) Morgan, Adam (Marsena) Morgan, Alexandra Markle (Brady) and Bryce Seddon; great-grandchildren, Xander Johnson and Evelyn Morgan; sister-in-law, Mary Payne; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 7 from 5-7PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His graveside committal with full military honors will be held on Monday, July 14 at 2PM at the WNY National Cemetery, Corfu. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
