Gary and I were cousins and as kids growing up, we usually saw each other at our grandparents farm for family reunions at Thanksgiving or a summer reunion. There were so many of us kids running around there doing something. It was a simpler time in our lives and it was just fun being a kid. Gary was a great person, and the last time I talked to him was at his dad's funeral. He was fighting a terrible disease and while it had taken its toll on his body, I could still see that youthful smile on his face, that had never changed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family for their loss.
