Gary Steven "Roszell" Sr. passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 1:01 a.m. He was born on September 12, 1956, to Homer Dean and Peggy Roszell. Gary was a graduate of Walter Wellborn High School, class of 1974. He was a jack of all trades but cars were his passion. Gary never met a stranger. He was a hardworking, loving, caring, and honest man to everyone who knew him. He was loved by everyone, especially his family, and will be missed dearly.
Gary was preceded in death by his dad, Homer Dean Roszell and his great granddaughter, Mabel Lee Roszell.
He is survived by his precious mother, Peggy Roszell; the love of his life and wife of 46 years, Carla Roszell; daughter, Mandy Smith (Jimmy); son, Steven Roszell (Heather); brothers, Tim Roszell (Sandi), and Arlan Roszell (Susan); sister, Lori Diodate (David); grandchildren, Jaylon Roszell (Haley), Jarrett Roszell (Graycee), Tyler Howard (Stephanie), Blade Smith (Kayley), Cameron Smith (Carlie), Brody Smith (Emma), and Taner Smith (Kyra); great grandchildren, Freya, Aiden, Mackenzie, Crimson, Dayton, Raelynn, Brylan, Nova and Kohlton; and a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Lloyds Chapel Baptist Church, 3400 Bynum Leatherwood Road, Anniston, AL 36201, with Rev. Greg Jones and Rev. Harold Payne officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
We are requesting casual dress in accordance with Mr. Roszell's wishes.
