Gary Michael Schall, age 74, of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025.
Born on September 28, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, Gary was the beloved son of Michael and Isabelle Schall. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1968 and soon after answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, fate brought Gary and Cheryl together on a night filled with dancing and laughter in 1972. In 1976, they were married and began a lifelong journey built on love, partnership, and family. Together, they welcomed their cherished son, Bryan.
Gary was a man of integrity, dedication, and quiet strength. He took pride in his work and built a successful career at TRW as an operations manager. His role allowed him not only to excel professionally but also to explore the world-he and his family even lived in England for three years during his tenure. Respected by colleagues and employees alike, Gary's leadership and work ethic left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working with him.
Outside of work, Gary was a devoted family man and a lover of life's simple pleasures. He was an avid reader, a loyal Detroit sports fan, and, in retirement, a regular volunteer at the used bookstore in the Milford Public Library-an activity that reflected his lifelong love of books and quiet community service.
Above all, Gary cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a humble man who lived with kindness, humor, and grace. His presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Beloved husband of Cheryl Schall; proud father of Bryan Douglas Schall; cherished brother of Diane (Lou) Roth, Sandy Evanoff, Michael (Colleen) Schall, Todd (Debbie) Schall, and Janet (Ken) Biernat, dear brother-in-law of Jeffrey (Karla) Nester; and former sister-in-law Lebeth Baetens.
Gary is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation to take place on Tuesday, June 24 from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home in Milford. Funeral service and military honors to take place at 12:30 PM at the funeral home.
