Gary Slattery, born on July 30, 1943, passed away on September 30, 2024, in Nashville, TN. He left a legacy marked by a profound philosophical intellect, a generous spirit, and a sharp sense of humor. Gary was a family-oriented man, deeply loved and respected by his children and all who knew him.
Gary graduated from New York University and went on to become a lifelong entrepreneur. He founded several successful businesses, most notably Education Intelligence, Inc., which remains a testament to his visionary approach and commitment to leaving a lasting impact on his family and community.
In his personal life, Gary was an avid reader and philosopher, always eager to explore new ideas and engage in thoughtful discussions. He had a keen interest in politics and was also a sports fan. His entrepreneurial spirit was complemented by his love for brainstorming new business ideas, a hobby that often merged seamlessly with his professional life.
Gary is survived by his children, Keith Slattery, Susan Yarba, Jill Cruz, Sean Slattery, and Sarah Garrett. And he is survived by his sister Gail Sicina, his brother Brian Slattery, and his sister-in-law Dottie Slattery. He was preceded in death by his son Aaron Chadwick, and his parents, Elsie Bernice Slattery and Frank Charles Slattery.
A service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on November 16, 2024, from 1-4 PM at 115 Cottage Lane, Nashville, TN 37214. Those who knew Gary will gather to honor his memory and the indelible mark he left on the lives of those around him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's honor to Alive Hospice (www.alivehospice.org | 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203 | 615-327-1085 | [email protected]).
