Gary Tranbarger Obituary

Gary Eugene Tranbarger was born February 5, 1958, to parents LaDonna and John Tranbarger in Flint, Michigan, and passed away in his home in Mountain View, Missouri, on October 3, 2025.

Gary was born in Flint, Michigan, and later made his home in Mountain View, where he built a life rooted in hard work, love, and family. He married Debbie Lee (Wills) Tranbarger on January 10, 2008, in Mountain View, where they shared many meaningful years together.

Gary spent much of his career working for General Motors, Walmart, and was also a dedicated cattle farmer, finding joy in the land and the simple rewards of honest work. He was a longtime member of the Central Church of Christ, where his faith and love for God were fundamental to his life. Those who knew Gary will remember not only his steady presence and generous spirit, but also his playful humor, quick wit, and deep devotion to his faith. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, and his lightheartedness and warmth touched everyone he met.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Tranbarger; children, Christie Hill (Peter), Carrie Donaldson (Brian), and Brandon Finley (Melanie); grandchildren, Dakota (Sarah), Corbin, Reese, Addyson, Caelan, Ellie, Emme, and Nolan; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Darren, Davis, and Ayla; father, John Tranbarger; mother-in-law, Barbara Pittman (Don); sisters, Cheryl Abbey (Dave) and Debbie Hill (Bob); nieces and nephews, Aaron, Casey, Cristi, Courtney, and Chelsi; and several great nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, LaDonna Tranbarger; his father-in-law, Carl Pittman; his nephew, Matthew Farris; and his sister-in-law, Bobbie Wills.

Gary's life will be honored with love and remembrance by his family and friends, who will miss his laughter, kindness, faith, and steady love deeply. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith, and now he can breathe again. We take comfort in knowing he is home with the Lord, at peace and surrounded by everlasting light.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's memory to the Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis Foundation, at https://rrpf.org/ or by mail at PO Box 6643, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
