The memorial service for Gary T. Wolff, 84, of Long Lake, SD, will be 10:30am, Monday, September 1, 2025, at Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Jake Kirschemann officiating. Burial at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors by Adolph Schumacher American Legion Post 276. Gary died Thursday, July 31, at Eureka Healthcare Center.

Gary T. Wolff was born to Theodore and Christina (Ottmar) Wolff on December 15, 1940. Gary was born and raised on the family farm four miles northwest of Long Lake. He received an eighth-grade education in country school. He helped his parents on the farm until 1958 when he joined the U.S. Army. Gary received an honorable discharge in October of 1959 and returned to his parents' farm.

On October 9th, 1960, Gary was united in marriage to Shirley Heupel of Eureka, SD, at the Eureka Baptist Church. Shortly after that they moved to Rapid City and looked for new employment. Gary then worked for a road construction company running the equipment. Then in 1962 he started working for a mobile home mover. Then he pulled trailer homes that took him all over the United States Shortly thereafter they bought a trailer home park. Then in 1975 they bought a second mobile home park. In 1976, they sold one of their parks and then expanded their second park to over a hundred mobile homes. While in between they would come back to their Long Lake farm.

Gary and Shirley owned the Long Lake Café from 2007-2014. In 2014 they sold the café and farmed part time. This gave them more time to drive around and socialize. Where there was almost always a Budweiser in Gary's hand. He was a big fan of NASCAR races.

Gary and Shirley went on some vacations. They went to Alaska and spent the summer there. They went to Florida to watch a NASCAR race in person and visit friends. Gary loved dogs and cats. They always had them with them in their house and the dog rode with them whenever they went for a drive.

Gary loved hunting and was a big fan of deer, pheasant, and duck hunting. He also loved fishing, whether it was ice fishing or taking his pontoon out.

Grateful for having shared Gary's life are his wife, Shirley, and his nieces: Juliet G. (Ken) Uehling, Rosilyn C. Gaudet, and Kathryn (Rob) Trumbull.

Preceding Gary in death are his parents, one sister Gladys Duncan, and brother-in-law, Julius Kiesz.
