Gavin Eugene Dubuisson, affectionately known as Gavman, peacefully passed away in Destin, Florida, at 77 years of age. He was promoted to heaven on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:35 p.m., following a brief stay at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Hospital.
He was born April 16, 1947 in Washington Parish, Louisiana to Rose Keating Dubuisson and Vernon Edward Dubuisson. He lived in New Orleans and Atlanta throughout his life, and his final stop was Destin.
He attended Louisiana State University from 1965 until 1968 and was a Louisiana University Tiger Marching Band member.
Gavin dedicated over thirty years to the financial services industry, excelling in sales, sales training, and management. His expertise spanned investments and insurance. In his later years, he transitioned to becoming an author, publisher, and life coach, penning insightful books such as "101 Things I Want My Grandkids to Know Before I Go" and "Success Principles Post COVID-19."
He lived as a Christian dedicated to serving the Lord in many ways, but what he loved most about life was helping people achieve their optimal lives. He was a life coach to so many and never met a stranger. He touched people in memorable and sometimes life-changing ways. He was a talented musician, played golf, enjoyed sports, and loved the beach.
Gavin's love for his family was boundless. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Darlene Munoz and three grandsons, Tyler Donavin Robert Burke, Maxwell Christian Munoz, and Jordan Matthew Munoz; his stepdaughters, Ashley Wasielewski and Holly Green; and two grandsons, Westley Peyton Wasielewski and Samuel Jason Wasielewski. His love and guidance will always be cherished by his family.
His mother, father, stepbrother, Joseph Moffatt; and cat, Mister, preceded him in death.
The family plans to honor Gavin's life with an informal gathering at one of his favorite spots in New Orleans. Later this year, a family-only moment will also be held in Destin on one of his beloved golf courses.

Gavin was always cheerful & smiling! He was warm & inviting & everyone loved being around him! His wittiness always had everyone laughing! So many of these qualities were passed on to his daughter, Kim! His spirit will live on through her!

We are blessed to have been a part of Gavin´s life for many years! He was a friend during his time in New Orleans as well as a dear friend we also spent time with when we were in Destin! Every time we planned a trip to our condo in Sandestin we always made sure we spent time with Gavin. We even had a condo in the same building! Kim and family we are saddened for you all, but we know that Gavin is now spreading his great kindness and wisdom with many other kindred souls!

I worked with Gavin at the Wellness Center. I always looked forward to working Saturdays with him. He made the day go by faster because we shared endless amounts of laughter and he shared stories about his past working in the medical field as I was in nursing school at that time. I will miss him dearly! Praying for his family during this difficult time.

Gavin will always be remembered by his love and gentle words for genuine heartfelt compassion towards others. He left an impact of values that words cannot convey. Gavin had a masterful vocabulary that offered advice without the slightest hint of condemnation, only support. I will miss his humor, his honesty and his willingness to listen and to offer constructive advice from a trusted friend who I had no doubt loved me. His life brought people together with true Christian values to serve God, family and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
