Gayle D. Craib, born on January 29, 1958, in Anderson, Indiana, was a woman of many admirable qualities. Her dedicated spirit was evident through the compassionate medical care she provided as a Registered Nurse, while her loyalty was demonstrated through her devotion to her family and love for her hometown sports teams, the Colts and the Pacers. Gayle's passion for nursing was not simply a career; it was a calling. She found immense gratification in tending to the elderly in various nursing homes she worked in throughout her distinguished career. Her dedication to her patients was surpassed only by the love she held for her family, whom she considered her greatest blessing.
Gayle, a lifelong resident of Elwood, Indiana, was a beacon of joy, particularly during the 4th of July celebrations, a tradition she cherished dearly. Her love for these celebrations was infectious, spreading joy and unity among her loved ones. Whether it was through her professional endeavors, personal relationships, or community involvement, Gayle Craib's compassionate nature touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark.
Gayle is survived by her siblings Debra Craib, Linda Morrison, Carl Jr.; nieces and nephews Patricia (Ty) Cobb, Ty (Patricia) Cobb, Brad (Ashli) Morrison, Ashli (Brad) Morrison, James (Emily) Shoemaker, Emily (James) Shoemaker, Josh Morrison, Carl III, Veda Craib. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Sr. and Patricia Craib; her niece Deanna Morrison; brother-in-law Jeff Morrison and great nephew Isaac Quate. She will also be fondly remembered by her beloved great nieces and great nephews, Kayden, James Jr., Iris, MaKayla, Eadyn, Chevy, Blake, Lily, Jaxson, Cameron, August and Chase.
A celebration of Gayle's life will be held by her family in the near future. Dunnichay Funeral Home has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
