Gemma Dunn Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Gemma Adriana Turrin-Dunn, 90, of Parker, Colorado, passed away peacefully August 15, 2025, of natural causes.

Gemma was born on October 2, 1934, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Pete and Ancilla Turrin. She spent her childhood in Kokomo, where she developed the values of faith, family, and hard work that would guide her throughout her life. As a teenager, Gemma relocated with her father and brother to Houston, Texas. It was in Houston that she completed her high school education, laying the foundation for the life experiences that would follow.

Gemma Turrin married Ray Dunn in 1956, and together they welcomed six children. Though the marriage ended, Gemma remained a devoted mother, dedicating herself to raising her children with love, determination, and resilience. She worked tirelessly to provide for them and, through her own example, instilled in each of them the value of hard work and perseverance-lessons that helped shape their success in life.

Proud of her heritage, Gemma was a first-generation Italian American with deep family roots in the northern towns of Feltre and Moena, Italy. Her cultural traditions and strong sense of identity were an important part of her life and the legacy she passed on to her family.

Gemma is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Fabio Turrin and Mary (Turrin) Arnold, and by her devoted children: Angela (Dunn) Rosales, Christopher Dunn, Patrick Dunn (Kerrie), Kerry Dunn (Lori), Louis Dunn (Jennifer Land-Dunn), and Cara (Dunn) Christensen (Rob). She was a proud grandmother to Kellen, Tyson, and Darian (Chelsea) Rosales; Christopher and Garrett (Candace) Dunn; Bryson (Malia) and Corbin (Whitney) Dunn; Kylie and Jack Dunn; Tommy (Ashleigh), Collin (Madison), and Kyle Albershardt; Payton and Savana Land; and Kendall, Ben, and Cameron Christensen. Her legacy will continue through the joy of her 12 great-grandchildren, with more blessings soon to arrive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Bernadine, Adrianna, Francis and her daughter-in-law, Lynnette Dunn.

A memorial service to honor Gemma's life will be held in Parker on Tuesday, August 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Ava Maria Catholic Church, 9056 E. Parker Road. Interment will follow at JS Parker Cemetery, 10705 S. Parker Road. Friends and family are invited to a reception afterward at the home of Rob and Cara Christensen, 20133 E. Hanging J. Ranch Place.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at The Valley House and at Brookside Inn, whose compassionate care and support brought Gemma comfort and dignity in her final days.

Gemma will be remembered for her spirited nature, her strength, and the love she had for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Her legacy of strength, resilience, and devotion will continue to live on through them.
