Gene E Jeffers of Cumming, Georgia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, May 4, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda Jeffers, daughter Gina (Scotty) Shaw, grandsons Austin (Jessica and soon to be great granddaughter Finleigh) Van Every, and Nathaniel Van Every, brothers Bill (Wanda) Jeffers, Russ (Becky) Jeffers, sister Jo Ann Mynatt and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Ann Jeffers, sister in law Barbara Bearden and brothers in law David Mynatt and Derrell Carnes.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, father in law, and grandfather always putting his family first. He and his wife Brenda made a life in the Forsyth County community for 54 years where they made many friends along the way. He led an adventurous life driving a truck for Kraft Foods and Sealtest in the 1970's and actually won an award for driving over a million miles with no accident with Kraft Foods, working for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department for 20 years, driving a tour bus for various Country and Rock bands during the 1980's throughout the country and even in Canada, and providing many homes with entertainment through satellite installations. Before retirement, he enjoyed working for Andean Motor Company as a vehicle transporter for dealer trades.
He was an enthusiastic Nascar fan, almost never missing a race on Sundays and loved Elvis. He made it possible to even shake Elvis' hand during one of his last concerts in Atlanta. He and Brenda were able to travel to many parts of the country and meet various Nascar drivers and music entertainers. To say that he led a full life is an understatement. If you knew him, you were touched in a special way. Gene loved spending time with friends and family and always had a fun story to share.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday May 07, 2023 in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Padgett officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
