Gene Mock Jr.

Gene E. Mock Jr. of Greenwood died Friday, July 23, 2021. He was 79 years old. Gene was born on March 8, 1942, in Indianapolis to the late Helen (White) Mock and Eugene Mock Sr. Gene graduated from Manual High School in 1959 and began a career that lasted some forty years in manufacturing. He retired from Kirk and Blum Manufacturing Company in 2000. He married the love of his life Brenda Sue McBeath September 30, 1961. They enjoyed fifty-four years together until her passing on September 3, 2015. Gene was a member of Greenwood Methodist Church; Prospect F&AM Lodge 714, and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, as well as an Eagle Scout leader. Gene is survived by daughter, Laura Kiel (Andy); son, Chris Mock (Jackie); grandchildren, Danielle Roy (Andy), Christopher Mock Jr., Madison Mock, and great grandchildren Jeremiah and Mackenzie Roy. Funeral service for Gene is Tuesday, July 27 at 10:00 AM at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel with visitation on Monday, July 26 from 4:00-8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will follow the service on Tuesday at Washington Park East Cemetery.
