Geneva Jane (Rhinehart) Putman was born April 24, 1933, in Dent County, Missouri. She was one of seven children born to Charles and Hattie (Inman) Rhinehart. Geneva had a close relationship with her siblings and grew up in Salem, Missouri.
On December 6, 1949, Geneva was united in marriage to Gentry Wayne Putman. They shared fifty-seven years of lasting memories together before his passing on September 27, 2006. Geneva and Gentry were blessed with one son, Marvin.
Geneva was a dedicated housewife and homemaker. She took great pride in caring for her home, husband, and son. All her grandchildren were "the apple of her eye" and her great-grandchildren her newest joy. Family was most important to her, and she treasured the time spent together.
Geneva had talented hands and was a wonderful seamstress, she enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was known for her green thumb and loved to garden and tend to her flower beds. Geneva was a lady of strong faith and enjoyed Sunday School and Worship at Salem First Baptist Church.
Geneva entered into rest September 3, 2024, in Rolla, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years. Those left behind to cherish her memories include her son: Marvin Putman and wife Teresa of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Mary Fitzpatrick and husband Paul, Amber McFarland and husband Willard, and Cortney Schafer and husband Jonah; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Toby, and Abigail; other relatives and dear friends.
Preceding her in death were husband: Gentry Putman; parents: Charles and Hattie Rhinehart; brothers: Frank, Paul, Manford, and Gilbert Putman; sisters: Lura Wright and Helen Gibbs.
Geneva lived a long, blessed, and full life filled with love for her family and friends. She will be forever missed by those who loved her most.
Funeral Services for Geneva Jane (Rhinehart) Putman were held Friday, September 6, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Serving as Pallbearers were her loving family. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
