Goldsboro-Geoffrey Bedford Carr, 83, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Born in Iron Mountain, Michigan, he was the son of the late John A. Carr and Norma H. Carr.
Left with years of precious memories are his beloved wife of 52 years, Beverly Clark Carr; daughter, Summer C. Cortinas; son, John R. Carr (Carey); and his precious, witty, spirited, inquisitive, talkative, gentle, thoughtful, and cherished grandchildren, Maebelle, Linus, and Enid.
In addition to his parents, Geoff was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Catherine R. Carr; his oldest son, Geoffrey A. Carr; and his brother, John C. Carr.
Geoff had a large extended circle of family and friends. He will be missed but greatly remembered for his quick offer to help others and his wonderful sense of humor.
Family was everything to Geoff. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren, doing whatever possible to make them happy. Their successes were his joy and pride. Some of his favorite places were across from family at a lively dinner table, in front of a good book, and beside Beverly anywhere.
Geoff was employed many years as a mechanic at Kemp Furniture Company and Apache L.P. Gas Trucks. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Seymour Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
