Spartans Unite. A once Knighted guardian passed into the eternal light. Our ranks will never be the same. Let our tears not turn into waterfalls. You are back in the arms of love. The past and future collided forming the present. Only now exists. But the moments we spent with you are independent of time and live on forever. Love is the undefeated champion of time. God promises this ultimate triumph of life. Death surrenders. God wins…We win. Faith demands fortitude. Heaven takes us home.
Now rise, losing the lump from your throat. Fear not. It was all such a beautiful life. Among all the stars, you shined the brightest. You set this world alive. You were so proud of the Cap you once wore—dedicating your life to making others better, brighter, bolder. No matter what life presented you were always that same boy from Michigan. You lived your childhood with curiosity; your youth was without regret. You did not fear death but kept fighting for the next turn in the road. You loved life and your family in equal measure. If we can hear your voice now, you would call out: “Jennie, my wife, Geo, my son—I love you”. “Pete, my dad, Sue, my mom, and Jennifer, my sister—you were with me all of my days.”
Geoffrey Fortunato passed away on May 28, 2025. He dedicated his life to the pursuit of higher knowledge, serving as the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs at Seminole State College. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Alma College in Michigan, as well as a Master of Education and Doctor of Education from the University of Central Florida. Geoff is survived by his beloved family - wife, Jennie Sirianni Fortunato, son Geovanni Fortunato, parents Sue and Peter Fortunato, and sister, Jennifer Fortunato, as well as the Sirianni family - Fran, Robert, Natalie, Peter, Vincent, and Teddy - and many other treasured family and friends.
If we could see you now, Geoff, we would tell you that we are proud of you and the way you lived your life—like a man. Until that Great Day when our paths meet again, you left us with a better world, a beautiful life, and most importantly with cherished memories.
