George Michael Cichacki went home to heaven on Thursday, February 29th, 2024 at the age of
82. Loving husband to Carolyn (Haas) Cichacki; Father to Mark Cichacki, Deanne Wakley
(John), Christopher Cichacki (April 6th, 1973 - August 13th, 1973), Melissa Leighton, and
Andrew Cichacki; loving grandfather of 6: Emilee (Marcus), Carissa, Joshua, Quinn, Hannah,
and Aidan ; great grandfather of 1: Amelia: loving brother to Patricia (Frank), Joan (John), and
Edward (Marianne): Preceded in death by his parents Edward and Irene and siblings: Richard
(Gloria), James (Mary), John (Marcia), Dolores (Maurice), and Carol (Henry). George will also
be missed by many relatives and friends.
George was born and raised in West Allis and graduated from Central High School. He met
Carolyn, the love of his life, while dating in high school. They were married on September 8th,
1962 for 61 years. George served an apprenticeship in the painting trade and eventually started
his own painting company called GMC Painting in 1978 until 2005. He also worked/volunteered
for an amount of time as a custodian at St. Mary's school. George enjoyed traveling with
Carolyn and his siblings, bowling, golfing, watching sports, old movies, going to events for his
grandkids, and spending many years at their cottage in Keshena, Wisconsin. George was an avid
Wisconsin sports fan of the Braves, Brewers, Bucks and especially the Packers. He enjoyed
going to games with friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church 9520 W. Forest Home Avenue, Hales
Corners, WI 53130. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM-11:45 AM with a memorial mass to
follow at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Catholic parish or to the American Heart
Association.
