Wenig Funeral Home - Sheboygan FallsRobert “Bob” Carl Kluge, 84, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his home.
Bob was born to Alfred and Vernetta (Rix) Kluge on June 17, 1941, in Sheboygan. He graduated from Central High School in 1960. Bob went on to serve his country in the US Navy Seabees from 1961 to 1963.
Bob was united in marriage to Jane Ognacevich in May of 1964. Together they shared 33 years until her passing in 1997. On November 26, 2004, Bob married Bette (Kuffel) Kreisa at St. John Evangelist in Kohler.
Bob was a dedicated employee of Kohler Company for 39 years until his retirement and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. After retirement, he worked for the Village of Kohler in the summer and fall seasons.
In his younger years, Bob belonged to the Knights of Columbus, was an usher at St. Cyril & Methodius, and a greeter at St. John Evangelist Catholic Parish in Kohler. He loved to golf with his friends the “Swell Guys” and attending Friday Movie Club. His pride and joy was his 1994 Admiral Blue Corvette with the white top.
Bob was a kind man with a great sense of humor, who always found strength to push forward. He was extremely thoughtful of others around him. Bob loved everybody and could never be found saying an unkind word. He was a dedicated husband (“Poppy”), dad, and grandpa (“G Bob”) and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Bette; children, Jim (Gina) Kluge of Appleton, Mike (Jen) Kluge of Thornton, CO, Jenny (Dave) Trilling of Sheboygan, Kristin Etchingham of Park Ridge, IL, David (Erika) Kreisa of Winnetka, IL, Charlie (Christy) Kreisa of Studio City, CA; grandchildren, Rachel and Matt Kluge, Jake and Meghan Kluge, Carter, Max, and Madison Trilling, Ellie and Maggie Etchingham, Lucy, Billy, and Shea Kreisa, Earl and Finley Kreisa. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Marilyn Kluge; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Jane; son-in-law, Joe Etchingham; parents; brother, Alfred Kluge; and sister, Beverly (Warren) Lubenow.
A memorial mass will be held for Bob at St. John Evangelist Catholic Parish in Kohler on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:30am. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Sheboygan.
Visitation will be held at church from 9:00am until the time of mass.
Memorials are appreciated in Bob’s name to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Huntington’s Disease Society of American (hdsa.org).
Bob’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, especially “B” and at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, especially Mary and Diana for their genuine and loving care of Bob and his family. Also, a special thank you to their wonderful Tower Drive neighbors for their thoughtfulness and concern over the years.
