George Edward Collins, 82, of Trenton, OH, passed away at his residence with family by his side on Monday, August 4 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He was born in Columbus, OH, February 16, 1943 to Vera A. Collins Cremeans (nee Clark) and George G. Collins who predeceased him. George went on to become a lifelong educator. He attended Franklin High School before studying at Olivet Nazarene University (Illinois) and the University of Cincinnati.

He had a passion for teaching which led him to a career in education. He taught Biology at many schools including Miamisburg, Princeton and Mariemont for 30+ years, where he loved the challenges of educating the next generation. George spent many summers learning in various settings such as Washington state and Tennessee, especially enjoying a focus on genetics; always taking this information back to design courses for his students.

After retiring from public school teaching in 1996, George taught GED courses through Talbert House with great success, worked as education director at Monroe United Methodist Church, was a courier for First Financial Bank, and transported passengers for UTS.

George was a devout Christian and spent time in faithful service at Blue Ball Presbyterian Church & Monroe United Methodist Church, and enjoyed his time at Center Pointe Christian Church.

George was an avid sports fan, particularly baseball (Reds) and football (Ohio State & Bengals). He enjoyed his adventures with his daughter visiting MLB ballparks with a goal to see all 30 parks. They completed 22 and had the time of their lives, including other family and friends along the way. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting events. Additionally, he benefitted from his time spent at NeuroFit Gym in Hamilton. But most of all, he reveled in time spent with his family.

George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Patty, parents George, Vera and Charles Cremeans. George is survived by his daughter Tari (Ron) Lawson, son David (Tiffany) Collins, grandchildren Megan (Zach) Beavan, Elliana Collins, David Collins Jr., and Kyann Collins, great-grandchildren Vera & Amelia Beavan, Patty Collins, brother Charles H. Cremeans, dear friend Krystal Lagedrost and his "lunch lady" Michelle Beavan.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice of Dayton for their wonderful care and support of George.

Per George's wishes there will be no services; George donated his body to the University of Cincinnati's Department of Medical Education.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in George's name be sent to The NeuroFit Gym, 4155 Tonya Trail, Hamilton, OH 45011 (memo George Collins) or online at www.theneurofitgym.com under the "more" tab for a donation button.
