George Robert Davis

George Robert Davis, 78 of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
George was born in Sampson County, NC on June 15, 1944, son to the late Aaron Davis and Myrtie Godwin Davis. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by 5 siblings and his brother-in-law, Richard Young.
George Davis was the light in every room. His contagious laughter and radiant smile left a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with. George was a truly devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His priorities in life were centered around the joy of his family and that was evident in everything he did. As a lover and supporter of Southern Gospel music he owned and sang with gospel groups for many years that included The Carolina Boys, Shepherd s Heart, and The Apostles. George s legacy left the greatest impression on his customers in the Eastern North Carolina region as compassionate and efficient Pest Control worker and owner of Week s Termite Service. You could always find George checking in with his customers at all hours of the day and catching up with them while he worked on their homes. George always wanted to know that everyone around him was happy and having a good time. He loved finding a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, and taking a fishing trip. Everyone who knew George knew that smelling good, eating good, and looking good were very important to him. George loved the Lord and there is not a doubt that today he is rejoicing in heavens choir.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Weeks Davis of the home; sons, Kevin Davis and wife Chrissy, Scott Davis, Chad Davis, Brandon Davis and fianc Emma Carter, all of Fayetteville; 2 sisters, Elaine Beasley and husband Sheldon of Dunn, NC and Grace Dunn of Warsaw, NC; a special sister-in-law, Carolyn Young of Fayetteville; many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Sansom Community Church, 2896 Arrowhead Rd. Dunn, NC 28334.
Funeral service will begin at 3:00 P.M. following the visitation with Rev. Jerome Pope officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, 908 S. McKay Ave. Dunn, NC 28334.
