My condolences to George's Family. I had the pleasure of being associated with George in his football days at YHS. He helped a young teacher/coach learn and appreciate his craft.

I have contemplated for some time now on what I could say. The grief I feel is astounding and often times I am at a loss for words.
When your parents leave, a piece of you leaves. The piece of your known existence. The person who's knowns and taught you about life. The persons whom had guided you to become who you are.
I could not have asked for a better father. Not to say he was perfect, but to say he and my mother are the reasons I'm who I am. They are my successes. They are the reasons I ve made my way in this life and will always strive to do better. The lessons of strong work ethic. The ideas of perseverance and tenacity. To think with logic and objectivity. To be the best and to give it your all and more. To do what is right not just for myself, but for the good of all. To appreciate big and small things and to never take anything for granted. And one of the greatest lessons was to never feel sorry for yourself. They showed me the beauty of life in good and bad and to the importance of kindness, generosity and understanding despite my own feelings. To live life to the fullest. And to do things and never expect anything in return. To give freely without expectation.
I love my father to no end. His positive attitude, his zest and adventure for life. His strength and ability to persevere. I can only aspire to be that person he wanted me to be.
Daddy, I came to the hospital, did not want to stop till I got to you. I held your hand and you held mine back. You didnt want me to stop holding your hand you held it tighter.
Despite being intubated and sedated, I could still feel you there. Those last moments with you are forever etched into my memory.
I will never stop holding your hand. You will always be my Daddy. Always.

George, you will be missed dearly. You were a great Tata to the boys Nathan, Roman, and Nikolas. I always enjoyed our conversations about our trip from Dallas to Yuma and your knowledge about the different routes. Moonshiners season just finished and thank God Mark and Digger didn't go to jail. Thank you for introducing me to Forged in Fire. Great show too. The Peña family sends condolences. Rest easy.

We lived at 21st avenue across from Pecan Grove School, one house away from them.George was always loving, kind & friendly & beautiful smile, our brother was very hardworking. Dorel,George,Wayne, our 3 oldest brothers of 8 siblings, loved coming over and having cookies & coffee with pops "our dad" . I remember they would chit chat for hours. So we saw each frequently. We would go play baseball and kickball etc..@the field across the street..George was always humble & kind to us girls 3 younger sisters..I remember he could swing the bat with one arm and hit home runs, I thought WOW amazing!!! I remember when he bought Plymouth roadrunner I think a 1970. When someone stole his nice wheels, we never seen him mad like that before. We were all so sad for him. George was always so proud of his children Richard & Valerie & grandkids. He would always be supporting his kids, at school events. My husband didn´t want to eat @ SIZZLERS The Best steakhouse & service, co owner George always picked up the tab..& the same at Hometown buffet. Thanks to Yolanda & family for taking great care of him..our thoughts & prayers.. pops is having cafecito & cookies with his 3 boys in heaven...love Josephine Evitch-Megui & family.

For sharing a two very fond memories involving four of my oldest brothers: Darrell, George, Wayne and Michael were my oldest brothers; It was Christmas Time and it was my first; my first Christmas with my older brothers. I had become ill so I had missed lots of school ( my first year was the Original Immaculate Conception School which existed next to the Original Mr.G); now living with my brothers I had been enrolled at O.C. Johnson Elementary School and Christmas was coming and I was sick. I could here my brothers talking and making plans but I was not sure for what. Because having older brothers was new to me. Then I heard them come into the house, "the conversation went .."Let's see..no, call Darrell ...Then he came into the home and yeah it has to be as tall as Darrell".
More time went by. Then they returned but I had fallen asleep in the middle room. Then I seen what they were up to....They had gone out and got the biggest Christmas tree and decorated; I had ever seen and set it up in the
front room as they called it. This was my first Christmas with my brothers any a very Cherished Memory. Besides learning Michael's best friend is married to my best friend and shared this story,"Michael was very to happy to have alittle sister come and live with him". I was learning to be with "a Family of all boys" before it was....My grandma and I at "Christmas" and my Uncle Bennie and Doris. This past Christmas as usual I always go to the home that exists today. To recollect that "Special event ". This year it was my brother "George" who stopped by to drop off his gift for me. I was glad to see him. He shared what his plans were for the new year. He gave me a great compliment on how I had decorated the home, the Kitchen. My brothers were great cooks. I am happy I had that time with him. He had shared with me that he planned to have surgery for his knee and that his wife needed to have surgery, also. I am sure a few people will remember he was a "Great Football" player for Yuma High School in the later 60's a few consecutive winnings I "believe." My dear brother I will miss you and your smile or joke you might have to share. Just like I miss Wayne your best right wing. But I am sure you both, along with Darrell will meet and become the the "Three some" in heaven. Your little sister Mary. May the blessings of the Lord Jesus be with your family left behind. May the Archangels continue the care for children Richard and Valerie. Condolence to your wife "Yolanda".

So grateful for the lessons my dad taught me and doing his best to help me be a better person. Many beautiful and cherished memories - and lots of laughter. Life is fleeting, time is precious yet short. I am thankful my daughter, Kaitlan, and my grandchildren, Kaysen, Oliver, and Delilah shared in your life. I will keep my promise made so long ago to take care of Val. Your son.

Thank you for coming into our lives. Thank you for making it better. Thank you for being the best dad and tata ever. Thank you for every memory that I will hold in my heart forever. I have so many memories I can't give just one. You mean more to us than you will ever know. You being in our lives was the best blessing. I thank you and thank God for that every day and night. You brightened every room you walked in. I love you, we love you. We will always love you. The world was so much brighter with you in it. I'll miss the best bear hugs that I ever had.
