George Hessenthaler, 78, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, passed away on May 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late George and Mary Hessenthaler, George was a resident of Mount Laurel for the last 15 years. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968, George married and started a family that ultimately led him back to the Philadelphia area. Prior to retiring, George realized and developed a creative talent for capturing special moments in people's lives as a videographer. Throughout his lifetime George's hobbies included keeping up with dear friends, especially if it involved playing pool, record collecting and watching and playing sports. George was an avid reader, a passionate writer, which ultimately led to a collection of published stories, and enjoyed keeping up with his grandchildren.
Loving father of Christopher (Amy Peterson) Hessenthaler and Jennifer Devitt; beloved partner of Paula Wagner and step father to her daughter, Elizabeth DiLemme; cherished grandfather of Charlie and Theo Hessenthaler and Madeline, Liam and Brendan DiLemme; dear brother of Mary Afflerbach and James Hessenthaler.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend George's visitation on Thursday, May 16, 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 and the Celebration of George's life will follow at 11:00 AM along with Military Honors.
