George Joshua Sr.

On Tuesday, August 2nd, 2023.George Joshua Jr. departed this life at JFK Hospital in Edison, New Jersey. George was born on March 15.1941 in King William County, Virginia to the late Carrie Joshua and George Joshua, Sr. He was educated in Fanwood Public School system and went back to Plainfield High School in Plainfield, New Jersey to acquire his GED.
He worked at Geiger's Restaurant in Mountainside, New Jersey as a chef for over 10 years. He also worked at Alcoa in South Plainfield, NJ as a machine operator and supervisor. Then he worked for I Tran rubbers, in South Plainfield, NJ, until he retired.
George had a warm, sweet personality. He was a good neighbor and friend, always showing compassion and concern for the well-being of his family. He was a workaholic and wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his music and loved riding with his motorcycles. He also thoroughly enjoyed his family time with his family during birthdays and holidays. He was devoted and active in several organizations, including his church and ministries: Usher Board, Music Ministry and Mens Fellowship Board.
Preceded In his his death were his 3 sisters Annie R. Stout, Christine Green, and Matie Lee Collins Chamberlin, as well as his previous wife Nancy Anderson.
He leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife Elsie Joshua of Plainfield, New Jersey, his daughter: Valarie Wells of Plainfield, New Jersey, his son: Clayton Wayne Joshua of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, grandson Safar Wells of Avenel, New Jersey, granddaughter Solmari.Rodriguez, and great granddaughter Amelia R. Wells, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
